Mara is an occupational therapist (OT), researcher, and OT educator. She received her MS OT degree from Seton Hall University and her PhD in OT from New York University. Her clinical background is in pediatric practice with a strong focus on working with families, however she has spent the last several years developing expertise in and supporting women's health occupational therapy. Currently, Mara's clinical and research interests include maternal health, pelvic health, women's health, and pediatric practice. Mara is a co-founder, former facilitator, and active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)'s Women's Health Community of Practice. She is also an active member of the AOTA Occupation-Based Pelvic Health Community of Practice. She has published and presented regionally and nationally on topics related to women's health and pediatric occupational therapy. She teaches the next generation of OT practitioners at Seton Hall University.
