Dr. Kaitlin Brooks, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor at Molloy University. Dr. Brooks is a Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working with children and adults with communication and cognitive impairments. Dr. Brooks works with an interprofessional team focused on maternal health, specifically improving the understanding of the needs of underrepresented minority mothers (URMM). Dr. Brooks and colleagues have conducted and published several secondary analyses to understand the experiences of URMM with a disability and the challenges they face in employment, community engagement, and treatment options. She is the co-PI on a recent federal grant awarded to Mercy University supporting the development of research infrastructure while investigating maternal mental health issues of Hispanic mothers in Minority Serving Institutions from the Health Resource Service Administration (HRSA).
