Neil is a community engaged scholar focused on supporting state governments and community organizations in using applied research to identify community strengths and needs and evaluate, implement, and improve prevention and intervention programs for pregnant individuals, children 0-5, and their caregivers. He collaborates with community partners, state and local governments, and researchers across disciplines to conduct needs assessments, design research and evaluation plans, collect and interpret data, and report and apply results. He uses a community-based participatory approach when appropriate to engage key community members as part of the evaluation team in the planning and implementation of evaluations as well as the interpretation and application of results.
