Assistant Teaching Professor

Deidra Clermont, MPH, is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Towson University. She is a first-generation college graduate with a passion for health equity, maternal and child health, and public health education. Deidra holds a MPH in Epidemiology & Biostatistics and Maternal & Child Health from Boston University and a BS in Health Education and Promotion/Community Health from Towson University. Her professional experience includes serving as a Regional Epidemiologist in Massachusetts, working as a research assistant at the Center for Black Maternal Health and Reproductive Justice at Tufts University, and supporting families as a birth doula with Accompany Doula Care. She is committed to creating inclusive, real-world learning experiences that empower future public health leaders.
