Dr. Ames is currently a pediatric intensivist and an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. She attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Utah. She then completed a pediatric critical care fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2018. Her research focused on improving health systems for children with medical complexity through understanding and addressing health inequity. She currently leading a multi-site team to understand and measure ableism in pediatric healthcare funded by the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.
