Chloe Hood is an MPH candidate in Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health at UC Berkeley. Her work centers on the intersection of person-centered perinatal care and health policy. Chloe’s academic background includes a BA in Politics from Whitman College, where she focused on the power and politics of obstetric violence. A former birth and postpartum doula, her MPH research examines the impact of respectful care during labor on postpartum mental health. Chloe is passionate about improving maternal health equity through midwifery workforce expansion, and she currently works with Kim Q. Dau, CNM, researching innovations in midwifery education and state-level midwifery policy.
