Lexa Giragosian completed her Master's in Public Health with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and received her BS in Public Health Sciences from the University of Michigan. She joined the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials in May 2022 and is currently a Senior Analyst on the Maternal and Infant Health Team, supporting projects related to maternal morbidity and mortality, perinatal mental health and substance use, and rural health. Lexa's main project work is on risk-appropriate care and state implementation of levels of maternal care with a focus on perinatal regionalization and providing technical assistance and capacity building opportunities to state health agencies.
Before joining ASTHO, Lexa was a Mental Health Counselor and provided health education and crisis intervention to young adults in addition to serving in research positions focused on clinical medicine, substance use, and youth violence.
