Dr. Jenny DeDecker is a core faculty member in the Department of Research at Saybrook University. The Department of Research is an interdisciplinary academic department that provides university-wide foundational and advanced research curricula to graduate and doctoral students. Jenny teaches qualitative research methods and mentors dissertation students pursuing qualitative research. She completed her doctorate in Mind-Body Medicine, specializing in Mindful Leadership in Healthcare, and is a strong advocate for health and wellness. She is a published researcher in compassionate care, burnout mitigation, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and birth doula research. She is committed to education and advancement in the fields of maternal and infant care, somatic psychology, contemplative neuroscience, ethics, social sciences, and mind-body medicine. Jenny is the owner of Full Moon Rising, a wellness studio offering bodywork, yoga, and mindfulness instruction, and is a certified lactation counselor, childbirth educator, and birth doula. Jenny resides in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with her husband and two children.
