Inngide Osirus is a doctoral student at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, in the Department of Social, Behavioral, and Population Sciences. My research focuses on health services, maternal and child health, and social networks. I have extensive experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods in research areas of infectious diseases, epidemiology, maternal child health, and cancer. My role as an Epidemiologist at local and state health departments, where I managed infectious disease surveillance and outbreak responses, sparked my growing interest in social epidemiology. In my doctoral program, I investigate maternal health disparities, particularly adverse birth outcomes and sociodemographic factors in minority, underserved and marginalized populations in Louisiana. Currently, my research builds on my commitment to advancing evidence-based health research and interventions that promote health equity.
