(F-3) Centering Communities and Lived Experiences to Improve Perinatal Health Outcomes: A Patterson Park Story

Since 2011, the B’More for Healthy Babies Communities Program in Baltimore’s Patterson Park North & East neighborhood has contributed to reducing the infant mortality rate by 60% in the largely latinx neighborhood. This presentation shares findings from an evaluation by Family League of Baltimore in collaboration with ICF. Lessons learned include how Community Health Workers’ culturally responsive engagement create safe spaces for participants, who described the program as “transformative”.
